The DEA-LIO on our upcoming SALES

So I’ve been twittering/updating the Facebook Fan page about an upcoming sale that we’ll be having. The good news for you - is that there are actually two. And since you all are so kind to read my blog - I’m breaking it down for you - so you’ll know what to expect, and you won’t have to waste any time checking out the shop when you could be doing so many other fun activities.

1st SALE starts NOV. 1st  ending on NOV. 7th

That’s it. Just running for one week only. This will be a FLOWER & FABRIC SALE. The flowers I’m referring to are ones like the large sequin flower, felt flowers, and velvet flowers. They’re great for clipping onto beanies, interchangeable headbands (those will FINALLY be listed!) and even for wearing ‘alone’. This week will have the LOWEST PRICES on these flowers that you’ll probably find anywhere (especially from me) so nows the time stock up (and I’m not just saying that, I don’t plan on listing the flowers this low for a long time - if ever). This is a great way to get stocking stuffers, hostess gifts, or even ‘gift toppers’ (clipping the flower to the top of your gift) for the upcoming holiday season.

And now about the fabric - yes, that’s right, I said FABRIC! I’m sure there has to be some crafty sewing mamas out there reading this - and if I just described you, then you might want to pay attention to this next part. I have a TON of fabric. Literally. Okay, maybe not LITERALLY, but pretty darn close. Also, I have new fabric coming in January. Not good - I don’t have the space. So I’m listing a ton of different fabrics that I’m going to be ‘moving out’. But don’t worry - I still have enough to bust out a few more blooms.

I’ll be listing the fabric in 1 yard increments, but there will be ‘multiple’ listings available. So if you buy 2 listings of a particular fabric, you’ll get 2 yards in one continuous piece. If you need more yardage than what’s listed, then just send me a convo and I can totally work with you.

Of course we will also be having FREE stuff. I mean, what is a sale without getting something for free?! First up - you will receive a large sequin flower in red with any purchase of $25 or more (before shipping) No need to add it to your shopping cart - it’ll automatically be included in your order. Also - at the end of this weeks sale, 3 lucky winners will get their ENTIRE PURCHASE PRICE for FREE! (I’ll even refund your shipping costs!!!). Each item you purchase will give you an entry - enter as many times as you’d like, and your purchase containing the highest dollar amount will be the one that will be refunded. Winners will be picked using random.org and you’ll be notified shortly after.

2nd SALE starts NOV. 30th ending on DEC. 13th

This will be our BLOOM COLLECTION SALE. Yes - I know... you’ve been asking for it - so I’m giving it to you. I will FINALLY be listing a ton of Blooms during this sale. This will include all aspects of my Bloom Collection - the original Blooms, Bitties, Daisies, headbands, - you name it! This sale will only last for 2 weeks, and then Blooms will be gone. But don’t worry - they’ll arrive in plenty of time for the holidays. (during this sale there will be other items listed as well, but it will be the only time the entire Bloom Collection will be listed)

And the best part - WHY we are doing this:

I recently came across this blog after a friend had posted the link on Facebook. It tells of the work that this young girl (Katie) has been doing in Uganda. She feeds and takes care of as many poor and needy children that she can. Her heart is huge beyond measure and each day she does more for these children than I could ever dream of doing in my lifetime. I’ve been in contact with Amazima Ministries (the organization that she works with) and they said that the biggest need right now is for their ‘feeding program’. They have actually put many of their other ‘projects’ on hold for the time being because the need is so great. In their most recent blog entry, Katie’s mom said that they are providing approximately 8,000 meals a WEEK! 8,000!!!

So between the dates of Nov. 1st - Dec. 13th, 10 percent of all our sales will be donated to Amazima Ministries. It was said that the price of postage for a single letter will provide 3 meals for a child. So think about what we could accomplish! I will also have specific ‘listings’ for items that once they’re sold, the ENTIRE purchase amount will go to Amazima.

As I said before, this girl is simply amazing. I am moved to tears every time I read her blog and I admire her strength, conviction, and commitment to the children (& people) of Uganda. To read more about Katie’s story, click HERE.

There are 5 WINNERS:

I decided that this time, all the winners were equal winners (if you know me, you know I like to play fair. I'm known for bringing kids all the same colored lollipops so there's no fighting over which color, and I like making sure everything is divided equally. Annoying? Maybe. But I bet you want to be MY friend when I'm in charge... can I get an amen?!)

So here's the LOOT:

Yep - you each get to pick a beanie and large sequin flower!

Please select one of the following shades:

Dark Purple, Lavender, Moss, Turquoise, Navy

Wine, Fuschia, Rose, Pale Pink, Pink

I don't have a photo of the Beanies - but the color selection is:

But I'll let you take 3!

So do you like it? Was it worth it? The only catch is you have to pay your own shipping.

KIDDING! Like THAT would be any fun. ;)

Anyway, thanks to all who took part in our last sale, and guess what... it's looking like some more are on the horizon... so of course, more details will follow as it gets closer. But just know, it'll happen sooner than later... so be ready! You could be seeing your name on here next!

*** winners were picked using random.org - contact me if you need verification because you're mad that you didn't win ***

Matching Monday

Before we get started I just have to say...

Seriously. Seriously?! Not ONE of you told me about your Halloween costumes?! Man... I KNOW how many of you looked at the blog too....  :)

Okay, on to my outfits.

I thought to myself, 'oh man, I haven't been to JCrew in a while...' so off I went in search of fun new clothes... and behold, my heart literally skipped a beat (or at least it felt that way). I am SO in love with all their kids clothes. It almost is a sickness... really. It has to be - or actually it's more like an addiction... and I gotta get me some of those clothes!

Here are 2 picks for today:

First you want to take this shirt

And layer it under this sweater

Which you pair with this skirt

And finish off with these shoes

I love it. I think the inkblot skirt is so sophisticated and the varying shades of that deep purple is beautiful! There are so many different ways you could go with all this, but I gets kind of overwhelming. The skirt can be used over and over with just about any colors - think of it as a neutral, even though it's two-toned. And the purple - try pairing it with that mustard yellow color - so fun! Or just throw it on with some jeans - delightful.

And now there's this SUPER CUTE dress
(and for some reason the photo won't 'center')

And you can put it with these SUPER CUTE shoes!

Can you tell that I'm LOVING that purple color? It's subtle, but it works. I was hoping for a great shade of bright pink but I couldn't find one on their site that works. What's hard is that there's those rosettes on the top of the dress... I didn't want to do a competing shoe, so I went with something more simple. But my original thought was to give it a pop of color with the shoes. Another way of bringing in color would be to use a black shoe, and then colored tights or stretch pants. Of course my first thought would be to use a multi-colored hair accessory, but a monochromatic look would work as well. Oh yes... a 'sparkle shoe' would be super cute as well...

You know, I'm not even going to waste my time posting coordinating Blooms because again, when I look at JCrew I don't even care what's in the hair... I just want the clothes!!!

Oh - and if you have an outfit that you're trying to coordinate and want our opinion - just send a photo and your question to blog@littlelesiw.com - we'd love to hear from you!!!

Q&A - Halloween Costumes

Okay... so I don't have any photos for this post (bummer), but I'm hoping for some good participation... I know more of you read this blog than post - so don't be shy - PARTICIPATE!

Anyway, since Halloween is quickly approaching, I thought it would be fun to discuss costumes. I, for one, LOVE to see what kids dress up as. But I've never lived in an area where we'd get alot of 'trick or treaters'... so sad. But now that Claire is getting older, I get to participate more in the festivities.

Claire's first Halloween she was an elephant at one party we went to, and then a spider when she went out to get candy. Last year I had these visions of grandeur of making a felt, french fry costume. But the night before Halloween I had a breakdown from not allowing enough time to actually sew it, and last minute I pulled out her spider costume, dusted off the cobwebs (no pun intended) and put her in that. THIS year, I have visions of DJ Lance Rock from 'Yo Gabba Gabba'. I bought some fabric to try and have the orange jump suit made, but again, I'm running out of time, and I found the costume online for way cheaper than I could actually have it made... now if I can just remember to order it.

Growing up my costumes were pretty lame. I can't even remember all of them. I know I was a baby one year (I mean, who HASN'T been a baby for Halloween at some point in their life?) And I repeatedly was a 'clown'. My neighbor had this really nicely hand made costume and when I finally grew into it, that's what I was... and since I'm short I know I wore that for a few years. (and I know both my older sisters wore it too... too bad we don't have pictures of us all donning that thing). The other night my sister was remembering one of her 'awesome' costumes... maybe she'll comment about it... (so no pressure Sara, but we're all waiting).

Anyway, it would be great if some of you take a walk down memory lane and give us all a glimpse of what we missed out on. Or share what your kids have worn (or will wear!), or share what the funniest costume you remember is! I'm not picky - I just want to hear about it!

Where did you find that? Um... etsy.. of course!

Okay, so I found this etsy shop the other day and I knew RIGHT AWAY that I wanted to 'highlight' it. It's called MiChiMa and their stuff is SOOOOO stinkin' awesome!

Check out these fish. Are they to die for?! And each one is only $7 - yes, SEVEN DOLLARS! I still can't believe it. Claire would FREAK OUT over these fish (and obviously her mom is too...)

And these cute little froggies... SO adorable... and you guessed it... $7 each as well. I feel like I just discovered a goldmine! The other thing that is SO super fun about this shop, is when you look at the listing for each little animal, they have their own names and 'stories'. I love it! So clever, and so well done.

This darling alphabet set is so cute I'm not sure I want Claire to play with it. Kidding! (kind of) But I think it'll be a fun way to learn her letters, and I just love how colorful they are!

I know, I keep using exclamations and all that jazz, but I can't help it. I LOVE THIS SHOP! Claire is so into stuffed animals right now and 'little things' that she likes to tote around, so this is just the PERFECT combo for her. I have a feeling that her Christmas stocking will be packed full of these items. And worst case scenario, if she tires of them quickly (which I doubt) then I'll be able to keep them. Hmm... maybe I'll just have to buy some for myself.

Anyway, go check them out - they sell all sorts of fun goodies and I'm sure you'll be just as excited as I am (or maybe quite as excited, but excited nonetheless!)
